my holiday

     After having been busy for 5 months, finally the holidays come… Yeah~! Well, this holiday won’t be very relaxing because I will have a series of martial art training and SPM tuition classes.

     Despite the tiredness and hardness, the training is quite a fun and meaningful. I’ll be performing in the field on August for the school celebration opening ceremony by waving that big red flag. I don’t know whether you still remember or not, I did it once last year. Same as last year, we will work with the 24- festival- drum team. I am looking forward to that really, although the training is really exhausting.

     As for the SPM tuition classes, I have to accentuate, it’s specially set for the Malay language only. I am bad at it indeed. Five more months and we will be sitting for SPM examination. I don’t know what to do; I can only say I am really anxious. Malay language is really difficult, “peribahasa, simpulan bahasa, imbuhan, ayat songsang/pasif/aktif, karangan…..”     

OH MY GOD!!!!

I would rather memorize those sayings and proverbs than memorize those simpulan bahasa and peribahasa, I found it really disgusting==

     When the holiday ends, I am going to work harder in the second semester. 1.5 year after I will graduate from F.Y, what a pity=(

self-criticism for first semester

Soon, the first semester has passed…

       I always ask myself “What have you done today?” to make sure that I don’t waste my time .Now, I am thinking of what I have done in these five months. Actually, my results in first semester are uneven. Here, I am showing you my examination results for each subject in first semester:

English: 81%, 78%, 79% (uneven, almost remained)

Malay: 76%, 67%, 57% (retrograde)

Chinese: 62.5%, 62.5%, 71% (improved)

Mathematics: 67%, 41%, 78% (uneven)

Biology: 79%, 65%, 53% (retrograde)

Chemistry: 78%, 37.5%, 61.5% (uneven, almost retrograde)

Physics: 56%, 61%, 70% (improved, can be better)

     Since last year, I have been asking myself a question “Did I choose the wrong department?” You know what? Excluding biology, my first semester result last year was really bad and unacceptable. All the science subjects including Math I failed almost every time, I was really sad and started worrying about my future. Luckily, I got a lot of improvement in the second semester. I passed every subject, and some I even scored A, they were Mathematics (79%), Chemistry (87.5%, highest mark in class), Physics (62%, of course could be better), Biology (86%, A, as usual), Malay (75%, finally passed==), Chinese (72%, finally passed==), and what about English??

     In fact, I passed every English examination; I got almost sixty something every time. Then, why couldn’t I scored A or seventy something? I believe my standard is almost there. At the end of the year, I only found the reason why couldn’t I score high mark, it’s because I never put my effort into it. I thought I could score high mark just via my exam result. Unfortunately, I scored quite low marks in the exams, because I didn’t learn off the literature, and the comprehension part was lousy. Another reason is that I didn’t always do my homework, even I did, and I did it perfunctorily and half-heartedly. I didn’t do the notebook and blogging at all, so those are the reasons.

     Anyway, I changed a lot this year. I believe you see that. I was earnest in my efforts to do my notebook and blogging; I am not good at designing my blog but I hope you would appreciate it. I will work harder in the second semester. I am looking forward to receiving your comments=)

lynas and 428

Rare earth is a kind of natural sources which is not harmful by itself 

to the environment. It is very useful in industry. However, there 

will be a lot of waste products which are radioactive during the 

smelting process. To put it simply, the process should be carried out 

in the desert or somewhere people do not live or else the waste 

products will represent a serious health hazard to human.

         Do you think it will be a stupid thing to do if a factory for 

smelting rare earth is built just about 3 km away from a residential 

area? Recently, I heard of news that a mining company in Australia 

called LYNAS is going to build a factory smelting rare earth in 

Kuantan. It has been given permission by our government to do so. 

Just like the above-mentioned, the waste products are harmful 

enough, let alone the factory is located just 3 km away from the 

residential area. It really makes me want to say:

F....        LYNAS!       

If you’ll pardon the expression.       I think the LYNAS Company is 


very irresponsible to do thing like that. How can they be so selfish? 


Australian are afraid of being affected by the radiation. What about 


us???!!! They don’t want their country to be polluted, nor do us!! 


They love their own country, so do us!!!     A lot of people held a 


sit-in in Kuala Lumpur to protest against building process of Lynas 


in Kuantan. It was just a peaceful protest but eventually the police 


threw tear bombs and blasted them with water cannons. So in the 


end, they could only fight back against the police. How could the 


police do this?? Don’t we have democracy and human rights?? 


People just stood up and expressed their minds in a peaceful 


manner, but they were subdued by the government using such a 


violent and unacceptable method. I wonder if the government listen 


to the voice of the people. It is clear that people are adamant and 


say “No” to the Lynas , I think the government should have known 


that and they must strike a delicate balance between profits and 


people’s health. Which one is more important? I think they should 


know...    

My Plans in 2012

  Time flies! I'm a senior middle two student now. This year is quite important to many students who are of the same age with me as all of us will be facing, SPM, an examination which is set for all Form 5 students in Malaysia to get educational certificates. I think we should be in earnest with this examination because it has far-reaching effects on us, especially in the dimension of getting into universities after graduating from secondary schools. Therefore, I have already mapped out a series of plans in order to deal with it.
  My plans are as follows:
(1) Study English first
Why do I start from English first but not other subjects? As I think it takes the most of time to master. This is just one of the reasons, another is, of course the main reason, the 1119 test papers are marked by very experienced teachers. If one's English standard doesn't meet the regular level, he or she might not get a satisfactory mark. You surely know, to write a good essay, what do we need? The answer is just simple--you must have a wide variety of vocabularies, idioms, proverbs, and phrasal verbs. Taking all of the reasons into consideration, I've decided to study dictionary, highlight it with different colour of highlight pens for different kind of words, and type them out in different lists by using Microsoft Excel.All these works are both time-consuming and energy-consuming. Some people even laughed at me and tried to stop me from doing that "silly & meaningless" thing. But is that so silly? To my eye--No! All of that are worth it to me. Now, I've finished doing the works of tidying up the information in the dictionary, it's really convenient for me to read and memorise some words. I never give up doing what I want to. What makes me so crazy about the dictionary--English is still the international language now. If you can master it, you don't need to worry about the communicating problem at all when you're abroad. You can go everywhere as you like.
(2) Preparing other subjects
Up to the second semester, I'll start preparing other subjects. I'll be pressed for time in the second semester because SPM comes earlier this year than recent years. So I have to cram Malay Language, Mandarin, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, totally seven subjects, into five month's time of revision (SPM starts in November)!

After that, we will be sitting for SPM examination. These are all about my plan in this year and it's a must-do homework to me.
